The restructuring of the protected building has begun, an important symbolic step towards creating the new community. The first demolition works were partly done by the future residents themselves.
The project group has also campaigned for the preservation of the large chestnut tree directly in front of the house. Not only doe sit give a very special character to the façade of the Swiss House, but it is one of the few sources of shade in the spacious inner courtyard. It is a nice place to spend time in summer. If all goes well, the six flats in the Swiss House will be ready by the end of 2021.
