Deputy Mayors representing three municipal portfolios – Housing and Local Development, Culture, and Social Rights – promoted a meeting to discuss the Lisbon Lab’s financial model sustainability. The expected amount needed to the physical rehabilitation of Marques de Abrantes Palace was of approx. 3 million euros, and it was agreed to ask for a technical report on the overall state of the compound, functional possibilities, and to establish immediate cautionary measures to assure the safety of the building. The Deputy Mayors decided that Marquês de Abrantes rehabilitation should allow the building for a mix of uses like creative/artistic residencies, temporary housing for social emergencies, community sports equipment, complementary rooms for Marvila Municipal Library (see the photo above), and housing facilities for migrants.
